TL;DR — Chatogo Review 2026
Chatogo is a free chat room website where you can join public or private text rooms, and some video rooms, as a guest in your browser. It is still online in 2026 and needs no download or account, but it is a room-based community rather than one-on-one tilfeldig chat. It does not enforce an 18+ age limit across the site, and its public reviews are poor, so adults looking for a moderated, adults-only space should look elsewhere. Rating: 2/5.
- Best for: People who like busy topic-based chatterom more than one-on-one matching.
- Cost: Free; no paid subscription needed to join rooms.
- Standout feature: Lots of themed public rooms you can enter as a guest.
- Skip it if: You want an adults-only site, tilfeldig one-on-one video, or consistent moderation.
Chatogo is a long-running chat room site built around themed public rooms rather than random pairing. We checked it again in October 2026: it is online, free and guest-friendly, but it is not an adults-only platform, which matters for anyone comparing it with the 18+ sites we cover. If you prefer text rooms, how Chat Avenue organises its rooms is a closer like-for-like comparison.

What is Chatogo?
Chatogo is a free chat room community where you pick a room by topic or group and talk with whoever is in it. Older write-ups described it as a random videochat with filters and a Next button, but the current site is room-based: you join public rooms, open private conversations and, in some rooms, use face-to-face video. That puts it alongside room sites like Chat Hour rather than video roulettes.
How does Chatogo work?
Chatogo works by letting you enter as a guest, choose a room and chat with the people already inside.
- Open chatogo.com in your browser; there is nothing to install.
- Enter as a guest with a nickname, or register if you want to keep your name.
- Pick a public room from the room list, or start a private chat with another user.
- Use video only in rooms that offer face-to-face chat.
- Follow the room rules, since moderators can remove or ban users.
Chatogo features
Chatogo’s main feature is its range of themed rooms; it has few tools beyond that.
| Trekk | What it does | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Guest access | Chat without creating an account | Fast to try |
| Themed public rooms | Rooms grouped by topic or audience | Easy to find a crowd to talk to |
| Private chats | One-to-one conversations with users you meet in rooms | Lets you continue a chat away from the group |
| Video rooms | Face-to-face chat in selected rooms | An option if you want to see people |
| Room moderators | Staff who enforce community rules | Some protection, though reviews say it is inconsistent |
Is Chatogo free?
Yes, Chatogo is free, and the site says no paid subscription is needed to join its rooms. We found no tokens or premium tiers advertised.
Chatogo pros and cons
Chatogo is easy to join, but its safety and moderation record holds it back.
| Fordeler | Ulemper |
|---|---|
| Free with guest access | No site-wide 18+ age limit |
| Many themed rooms | No random one-on-one matching |
| No app or download needed | User reviews report unexplained bans and failed appeals |
| Text and some video rooms | Moderation described as inconsistent |
| Private chats with people you meet | No information on who runs the site |
Is Chatogo safe?
Chatogo is not one of the safer options we review, because it mixes age groups, lets anyone in as a guest and has a weak public reputation for moderation.
Its Trustpilot profile, which the company has not claimed, averages about 2.1 out of 5, with most reviews giving one star. Common complaints include bans without a clear reason and appeals that go nowhere, and some reviewers allege inappropriate behaviour by other users. These are individual claims we could not verify, but they kamp the risks of an open room site.

- Keep your real name, age, location and social accounts private.
- Do not move to another app or share photos with someone you have just met.
- Leave any room or private chat that makes you uncomfortable.
- Report rule-breakers to the room moderators.
- If you want adults-only chat, use a site that enforces an 18+ rule.
18+ note: Camround and the platforms we recommend are for adults only. Because Chatogo does not enforce an adults-only limit across the site, we do not recommend it for adults looking to meet other adults.
Chatogo vs alternatives
Chatogo competes with other free chat room sites, and adults-only random video chats are a different, more focused option. Our Chatib review covers a larger free room site, and if you want one-on-one video, the comparison table below includes moderated adult roulettes.
| Platform | Format | Free? | Sign-up | Standout |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chatogo | Text and video chat rooms | Ja | Valgfri | Many themed rooms |
| Camround | One-on-one random video (18+) | Ja | No profile needed | Instant matching, skip anytime, report to moderators |
| Chatib | Tekstchat rooms | Ja | Guest or account | Large room list |
| Chat Avenue | Themed chat rooms | Ja | Guest or account | Long-running room network |
| Wireclub | Text chat rooms | Ja | Account | Community profiles |
| OmeTV | Tilfeldig videochat | Ja | Quick login | Fast video matching |
Who is Chatogo best for?
Chatogo suits people who enjoy browsing busy rooms and are comfortable with an open, mixed community. Adults who want a cleaner text community may prefer a profile-based room site like Wireclub, and anyone after face-to-face conversation can try Camround’s free one-on-one video chat for adults.
Ofte stilte spørsmål
Is Chatogo still working in 2026?
Yes. As of October 2026 chatogo.com is online, with a 2026 copyright notice, and offers free public and private chat rooms in the browser.
Is Chatogo free?
Yes. Chatogo is free to use, and the site says you do not need a paid subscription to join its chat rooms.
Does Chatogo have random video chat?
Not in the roulette sense. Chatogo is a chat room site; some rooms offer face-to-face video, but it does not pair you with random strangers one-on-one.
Do I need an account to use Chatogo?
No. You can join as a guest with a nickname. Registering is optional.
Is Chatogo safe?
Chatogo has room rules and moderators, but it does not enforce an adults-only age limit and its public reviews complain about inconsistent moderation. Keep personal details private and leave any chat that feels wrong.
What is a good alternative to Chatogo?
For adults-only one-on-one video chat, Camround matches you instantly with one stranger at a time, lets you skip anyone and has a Report button reviewed by moderators. For text rooms, Chatib and Chat Avenue are popular choices.
The bottom line
Chatogo is still online in 2026 and gives free, guest-friendly access to a lot of chat rooms. The lack of an adults-only rule, no one-on-one matching and weak reviews of its moderation keep it at 2/5. For better-run options, see our guide to free online chat rooms.
