What is Monkey Cool?
Monkey Cool was the web domain for Monkey, a random aplicație de chat video built around quick one-on-one matches with strangers. Old claims that Monkey Cool was “founded in 2009” are wrong: Monkey was created in the mid-2010s by Ben Pasternak and Isaiah Turner and was acquired by the Holla group in 2018. Today the monkey.cool address simply forwards you to monkey.app, which places it alongside newer apps such as Azar and its swipe-style matching rather than classic web roulettes.
How does Monkey Cool work?
Monkey works by logging you in and then matching you instantly with a random person for a video or chat text.
- Go to monkey.cool or monkey.app, or install the Monkey app on Android.
- Sign in with the one-tap social login.
- Allow camera and microphone access.
- Tap to be matched instantly with a random person on video, or use text chat.
- Swipe or tap to skip, and report anyone who breaks the rules.
Monkey Cool features
Monkey’s features focus on fast matching, with paid extras for more control.
| Caracteristică | What it does | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1-tap instant matching | Connects you to a random person in seconds | Little waiting between chats |
| Video and text chat | Talk face to face or by message | Choose how much you share |
| AI moderation | Automated checks on chats, Monkey says | Helps filter unwanted content |
| Monkey Plus | Paid plan with country choice, unlimited matches and no ads | More control if you are willing to pay |
| Coins and gifts | Virtual currency for sending gifts | Optional; not needed to chat |
| Android app and web | Use it on Android or in a browser | Works without a desktop install |
Is Monkey Cool free?
Monkey is free to start, but key extras cost money. Its Monkey Plus subscription, which renews automatically, adds country choice, unlimited matches and ad-free use, and coins are sold for virtual gifts; we could not verify current prices, so check them in the app before subscribing.
Monkey Cool pros and cons
Monkey is slick and fast, but more restrictive than browser roulettes.

|---|---|
| Very fast one-tap matching | Account required |
| Video and text options | Country choice and other extras are paid |
| AI moderation | Not available on the Apple App Store |
| Actively updated Android app | No meaningful age verification reported |
| Modern, app-style interface | monkey.cool is only a redirect, which confuses some users |
Is Monkey Cool safe?
Monkey is reasonably safe for adults who stay anonim, but child-safety group Internet Matters notes that it does not meaningfully verify ages, and Apple has removed it from the App Store over safety concerns.
- Use a login and display name that do not reveal your full identity.
- Never share your phone number, address or social media handles.
- Skip and report anyone who is explicit, abusive or asks for money.
- Be careful with paid gifts and anyone who asks you to buy coins for them.
- Assume anything on camera could be recorded.
18+ only: Monkey says it is for adults aged 18 and over, and Camround is strictly 18+ as well.
