MocoSpace

MocoSpace is one of the oldest mobile social communities still running, built for chatting, flirting and casual games rather than random webcam matches. Older write-ups described it as having no age limit, but today it requires users to be 18+. If you are comparing social discovery apps, our Badoo review covers a bigger dating-first option, and how Tango Live works shows the live-streaming side of meeting people.

What is MocoSpace?

MocoSpace is a social community where adults chat, make friends, flirt and play games with people nearby or further afield. It started in 2005 as a site for early mobile phones and is now available on the web and as Android and iOS apps from JNJ Mobile. It is less structured than a dating site, so if finding a partner is your main goal, our guide to meeting singles online covers dating-first choices.

How does MocoSpace work?

MocoSpace works by having you create a free profile, then chat, browse people and play games.

1. Open mocospace.com or install the Moco app.
2. Sign up with your date of birth, gender and who you want to see in searches, or use the phone number option.
3. Fill in your profile, which other members can see.
4. Chat with people nearby, make friends and join in the games.
5. Use the Safety and Help sections if you run into problems.

MocoSpace features

MocoSpace’s features centre on chat, discovery and games rather than video.

Games	Play social games with the community	Gives you something to do beyond chatting
Profiles	Share details and photos about yourself	Helps people decide whether to say hello
Search preferences	Choose whether you appear to women or men	Shapes who finds you

Is MocoSpace free?

Yes, MocoSpace is free to join and use, and its Google Play listing shows optional in-app purchases for extras. We could not confirm current prices for paid features.

MocoSpace pros and cons

MocoSpace is established and free, but it is not built for instant video chat.

Avantaje	Contra
Running since 2005 with a large user base	No random video chat advertised
Free to join	In-app purchases for extras
Social games alongside chat	Android app last updated in October 2024
Clear 18+ requirement	Profile info is visible to other members
Well-rated apps	Fake profiles and scammers, as on any social app

Is MocoSpace safe?

MocoSpace is reasonably safe for adults who use common sense: it is 18+ and has a Safety section, but your profile is visible to others and fake accounts exist.

• Keep your full name, address and workplace off your profile.
• Be wary of members who quickly ask for money, gifts or to move to another app.
• Only share photos you would be comfortable with anyone seeing.
• Use the Safety and Help sections to report problems.
• Meet in person only in public places and tell a friend your plans.

18+ only: MocoSpace requires users to be at least 18, and Camround is also strictly for adults.

MocoSpace vs alternatives

MocoSpace competes with social discovery and chat apps that help adults meet new people. Azar’s video-first matching suits people who want to see someone straight away, and our Paltalk review covers a long-running room-based community.

Platform	Format	Free?	Sign-up	Standout
MocoSpace	Social chat and games	Yes, with in-app purchases	Account	Games plus chat
Camround	1-on-1 random video (18+)	Da	No profile needed	Instant matching, skip anytime, report to moderators
Badoo	Dating and social app	Yes, with paid extras	Account	Large dating community
Azar	Random video aplicație de chat	Yes, with paid extras	Account	Swipe-style video matching
Tango Live	Live streaming and chat	Yes, with paid gifts	Account	Live broadcasts
Chat Hour	Text rooms and messaging	Da	Account	No premium tier

Who is MocoSpace best for?

MocoSpace is best for adults who enjoy a social, game-friendly community and want to get to know people gradually. If you prefer simple text rooms, Chat Hour’s free rooms are an alternative, and if you would rather vorbi face to face right away, start a free one-on-one video chat on Camround, which is instant and strictly 18+.

Partly. MocoSpace describes itself as a place to chat, meet new people, make friends, flirt and play games, so it mixes social networking with a light dating angle.

How old do you have to be to use MocoSpace?

You must be 18 or older. MocoSpace asks for your date of birth at sign-up, and its Android app is rated 18+.

Does MocoSpace have an app?

The bottom line

MocoSpace is a long-running, free 18+ social app that mixes chat, flirting and games, which earns it 3/5. It is not the place for instant video chat, and its Android app is showing its age. For dating-first options, see our OneNightFriend review.
